OrbitOne™ TAV is a truly thin-client application, able to map, display, and manage tens of thousands of devices in a useful and intuitive format, requiring no download of any application. The only software requirements are for Flash Player 8, which is standard on all new PCs [or available as a <1 Mb free upgrade] and any web browser that supports Flash Player 8. OrbitOne™ TAV is truly cross-platform (PC or Mac) and cross-browser (all popular browsers support Flash Player 8). When enhancements or required upgrades are made to OrbitOne™ TAV, no additional downloads are initiated or required, allowing the seamless introduction of upgraded features.
Orbit One understands from experience in disaster situations that large download requirements often prohibit field users from being able to access web-based software while in the field. Orbit One has (un)successfully tested and worked with virtually all other software solutions - each originally designed as military or trucking solutions, both thin and think client, and then forced to try to meet the needs of the emergency and disaster management community. We found that even the best of these require 10+ Mb Java downloads, repeated downloads with every alteration made, and are incapable of providing web-based displays scalable to unit volumes exceeding hundreds of units.
